Laksa Recipe Without BELACAN, ASAM KEPING AND BUNGA KANTAN

I have been craving for laksa 

like ages ago!

I gotta make one cause you can't get laksa

in any restaurant here in Montreal.

Who wants to make laksa?

I want!

I do not have any

ASAM KEPING

BELACAN

BUNGA KANTAN

So I invent my own recipe.

The following pictures are all you need :

You need three tins of these sardines,
 I use this brand because I like the hot peppers and it's cheap!

3 big spoons of tamarind to replace asam keping

Half of this container

3 shallots

1 stalk of lemongrass, cut it into three parts, have to tumbuk this a bit

Daun kesum is called Vietnamese mint

Salted shrimp is used to replace belacan.
You can get this at korean store,
all you need is one big spoon of this.

This is laksa noodle packaging

0. Soak noodles in room temperature water.

1. You gotta blend shallots, salted shrimp and chilli paste with some water

2. Boil them in a container

3. Blend the sardines with some water too, but not too much if you want more saturated laksa soup.

4. Boil this together with the previous ingredients.

5. Add water to tamarind and pour them into the boiling soup.

6. Add the lemongrass and Vietnamese mint into the soup.

7. Add sugar and salt, if needed.

8. Let it boil.

While letting the soup boil, you have to boil another container of water. After the water is fully boiled, soak the noodles in it for 12 minutes. 

Then, you're ready to serve laksa!

You may wanna have boiled eggs, cucumber and lime as your side dishes.

I really hate it when people see 

a girl in hijab can't do anything great.

They perceive hijab as something that would limit

a girl from doing what she wants.

You're wrong!

I was the only girl in hijab that volunteered for this

event and I could see how did people treat me.

When I walked around an event without 

my camera, people won't even look at me

or smile at me.

But with this camera, they smiled

at me with the hope that 

I would take their photos and include that in the official website.

I certainly did that.

Hijabists,

we girls need to prove to them we are as good as them,

or even better!

We should be proud of what we wear!

People don't define you, you tell them who you are.

I will also be the photographer for some other events on campus,

I am so excited for it!

You know what?

Some people think that university life is all about books, studying, attending class, 

staying back at the library.

To me, university life is about gaining experience

that can help you dealing with the future life.

Indeed, you definitely have to score in your exam and do all assignments etc.

But without soft skills and experiences,

your resume won't look good either.

There's no life manual.

Your experiences are your best teachers.

Qim's Birthday!

Qim's birthday was last two weeks

and I prepared his birthday present since February 2015.

Can't you feel the love? LOL

This year, I had to fork out my money

and pay for the postage,

that's insanely expensive 

but I still did it because of 

love love love love love

ew haha

The point is,

it was so nerve-wracking to 

keep questing and guessing whether the parcel had safely arrived or not

and my surprise FAILED!

because the eff poslaju didn't send notice to Qim's house

stating that HE HAD A PARCEL TO BE CLAIMED!

And I had to tell him that!!

And because of cny holidays,

he only got to claim the parcel

4 DAYS after his birthday!!!

Okay,

I was a bit disappointed

but after looking at his reaction,

I was a happy girl again tehee!

You should give someone a gift that you want to have it yourself!

ps, Qim, there's this one watch that I really want.....

I'm back!

I have been MIA

for the past one month because

I was so busy,

I would tell you how my life went.

I had 2 essays due on the same day.

On top of them, I had graded assignment on materials in electrical engineering.

I also had a quiz and online assignment for calculus.

And in-class quiz at the same time.

Life was pretty hectic.

But for some weird reasons,

I felt so chill this semester

and I slept a lot!

I didn't compromise my  beauty sleep.

I am also on tight of budget,

which explained why I won't be going anywhere

for my reading week.

uh-uh

It was called reading week for reasons!

And also,

after reading week,

I have

research paper due!

1 midterm, 1 quiz, 1 essay and 1 graded assignment.

Riiiight after the break.

How fun it is?

So much fun.

Yet, I am still

opening amazon and Sephora,

do my online window shopping

(too broke to buy anything)

and

watch make-up video on youtube yet never apply those techniques.

I guess,

I know what am I good at now!

WASTING MY TIME!
